My concert going experiences began with Herman's Hermits playing at my school summer fair about a week before ' Something Good ' hit the charts . From the package tours of the sixties ( Kinks, Beach Boys, Small Faces, Walker Brothers) to the Magic Village, becoming one of Drive In Rock and going on tour with Captain Beefheart ( all thanks to the legendary Roger Eagle). The Bath and Bickershaw festivals, new wave and punk, working on the door at the Hacienda when it first opened. It's been a lifetime. I have been lucky and seen most of the artists I wanted to see, some of them late in their careers. My blog Historic Gig Guide shares some of these stories. Nowadays I continue to celebrate the old and look forward to discovering the new.
