10) Annie Nightingale – Wicked Speed
Zoe Howe’s top 10 music books : number 10
Big fan of Annie’s: she remains totally excited by new music and remains a positive force on many levels. Wicked Speed, as you can probably imagine, is the story of a life being lived at full-pelt (with an acid house soundtrack) and we see Nightingale doing everything from becoming BBC Radio 1’s first female DJ and throwing some seriously rock ’n’ roll parties to surviving a horrific mugging in Havana. Annie has become a bit of an off-the-wall guru, in my opinion, so listen to what she says, read Wicked Speed and take some notes.
