Z’EV , a gifted percussion and video artist, was returning from a gig in New Mexico on the Amtrak train that derailed last night in Dodge City, Kansas. Z’EV is 65 and suffering from COPD. He was air-lifted to a hospital in Amarillo, Texas where he is on a ventilator and under sedation in the surgical ICU ward. The hospital said he won’t be conscious for several days.

Right now, no one is sure what other injuries he has, because they won’t release that information to people who aren’t family. He has no family here that can be contacted.

His good friend, Barbara Barg , was supposed to pick him up at Chicago’s train station, and is now trying to raise funds to go be with him and keep watch over him. He doesn’t have insurance, and we want to make sure someone is with him so the hospital knows someone cares about him. No one should go through a medical crisis by themselves.

Barbara doesn’t know how long she’ll need to be there, so we are assuming at least a week. Please help us raise the funds for immediate air travel, motel, and expenses so she can go to Amarillo and be there for him. Unused funds will go to Z’EV to help him through his recovery, so please donate even if we hit the goal.
