7. Killing Joke – Killing Joke

The first one, although the 2003 one with Dave Grohl is also brilliant. Geordie Walker is my favourite guitar player, without a doubt. You can really gauge a player’s worth by one measurement: can you listen to a single second of their playing and say “that’s definitely ______”? Georgie’s a prime example – even when he ditched the Burman amps! I’ve always thought that the greatest thing about post-punk is that every instrument is playing a lead part, and this album is the perfect embodiment of that. Every sound occupies its own space, despite all of them being absolutely massive.

  1. I agree this the first’ Killing Joke ‘ album is awesome ! Every track is mindblowing. I had the great honour and privilege to
catch them live last Summer, at Hebden Bridge, and Holmfirth. With the original line up. Still sounding as fresh as ever.
