Cocteau Twins – Head Over Heels
Besides Natasha and me, I’ve never heard anyone else saying that this is their favourite Cocteau Twins album. I have no idea why. From “When Mama Was Moth” to “Musette & Drums”, there’s not a single misstep or dull moment. No guitar player’s sound is as immersive and gigantic as Robin Guthrie’s, nor as distinctive. Players like Robin (and singers like Elizabeth Fraser, come to think of it) have always taught me to find my own unique voice and embrace it. This album was really important for my growth as a musician.
