XFM – Xposure All Dayer 2015: PreviewWith a cracking lineup featuring many Louder Than War favourites, Keith Goldhanger previews the 2015 edition of XFM’s increasingly legendary “Xposure All Dayer”.

Sometimes, I think you’ll agree, it’s nice to tell you all about an event before it happens in the hope that you’ll join us in our happy lives to tap feet and clap hands to the days hit tunes that’ll probably be tomorrows hit tunes before you can say Bob’s yr Uncle.

The XFM Xposure all day gig at London’s Camden Barfly is one such event you can come to. It’s on Saturday January 24th and begins about dinner time and ends about the same time as Match of the Day begins to show the highlights of a goalless draw between two clubs no one is interested in.

The Xposure all dayer is where we watch bands we’ve heard of and (importantly) bands we don’t know yet but will certainly be household names (our house) over the months and years that follow. This event is where we first saw Jamie T many years ago dangling his feet off the front of the stage to a dozen or so early arrivals. Another year we were still munching our breakfast croissants to a soundtrack of PULLED APART BY HORSES and as we look through years gone by can remember FOALS, CLOCK OPERA, NADINE SHAH, FRIENDLY FIRES, DJANGO DJANGO, DRENGE, TEMPLES, PEACE, GOLDHEART ASSEMBLY, THEME PARK…Oh the list is endless… It’s basically where we see bands a few months before they get catapulted onto big stages at our favourite festivals or in some cases disappear from sight. One day I’ll describe why THE MAE SHI were the best band we ever saw and one day we might just wonder out loud what ever did happen to ROYWORLD.

XFM’s very own John Kennedy will be introducing the artists and broadcasting each bands set on future shows.

The Xposure All Day event at The Camden Barfly line up is as follows:

  • The Tuts
  • The Jacques
  • Freddie Dixon and the Guard
  • Marika Hackman
  • Lola Colt
  • Zun Zun Egui
  • Afrikan Boy
  • Amber Run
  • Dry The River

Tickets here can be found here.

Here’s a bit of what each artist sound like:

Keith Goldhanger -- Spent the '90s as a frontman with London noise merchants HEADBUTT - spent the '80s in 'Peel favourites' BASTARD KESTREL. Spent a few years mashing up tunes and remixing bands as HIDEOUS WHEEL INVENTION. Is often out and about getting in the way of things and bumping his head on low ceilings - Will give your band the time of day but will dislike any band that balances full pints of alcohol on the top of guitar amps (Not keen on lead singers that wear hats either).
