MisfitsThe legendary Misfits were one of those bands that seemed doomed to never play again. Inter case it was even more poignant as their legendary status was bestowed upon them years after they were actually going.

With some of the the best merchandise ever spreading their message they became the de rigour outfit for younger punk generations who could only dream of ever seeing the band’s proper line up.  Taking their cue from Dave Vanian and the early Damned they created horror rock with a series of Ramones style dark and melodic sicko anthems played by body building ghouls who were perfect merchandise. It also helped that they had the knack for writing pretty damn catchy anthems before falling apart.

Various versions of the band staggered along after frontman Glen Danzig left and  whole sub genre of horror rock was fired up by their madness but a full line up show seemed impossible to imagine.. Somehow, though, the band overcame some personal poison and have just headlined the Riot Fest in Chicago (their second show since their comeback and first proper line up show since 1983) and the concert has been variously described as ‘insane’ and ‘insane’…
