The upcoming Louder Than Words music and literary festival in Manchester on the weekend on Nov 15/17 is pretty excited to announce an in conversation with the great Wilko Johnson.
The guitar legend who is suffering from terminal cancer will be making one of his last public appearances and first and last appearance as an in conversation style event where he will be in conversation with Zoe Howe- an interview where the musician will talk about his life and death in a poignant and, knowing Wilko, hilarious manner laced with the wisdom of years on the road. Zoe wrote the recent great book about Wilko last year and is also going to talk about her upcoming book on Jesus and the Mary Chain with another in conversation with Mary Chain bassist Douglas Hart and John Robb in one of the many in conversation and panel events at the Louder Than Words conference.

Louder Than Words is a weekend literary and music festival and the first in an annual celebration of music and the written word part promoted by Louder Than War one of the UK’s leading music culture websites.
Music and the word are the two art forms that detail the beauty and the madness of creativity at the heart of the helter skelter and have had a close relationship since the dawn of pop culture – sometimes at odds with each other and sometimes in the purest celebration of both forms.
We want to carry the debate, the arguments, the passion and the power of the word and the thrill of the music into a weekend event, which takes place in Manchester on the weekend of Nov 15/17.
