Wildhearts PHUQ Tour

Geordie rock ‘n’ roll nutters The Wildhearts will reunite once again in September to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their most commercially successful album.

“P.H.U.Q.” (pronounced in obvious fashion!) was released in May 1995 and crashed into the UK Top Ten Album Chart at number 6. It spawned two Top 40 hit singles, “I Wanna Go Where The People Go” and “Just In Lust”, which reached numbers 16 and 28 respectively.

Support on the tour comes from Baby Chaos, who also played on The Wildhearts’ 1994 UK tour, and Ginger’s side project Hey!Hello!.

Here’s “I Wanna Go Where The People Go” on the BBC’s Top of the Pops, introduced by a youthful Chris Evans!

The dates are:

  • 17th September – Nottingham Rock City
  • 18th September – Manchester Academy
  • 19th September – Newcastle O2 Academy
  • 20th September – Glasgow O2 ABC
  • 22nd September – Leeds O2 Academy
  • 23rd September – Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall
  • 24th September – Bristol O2 Academy
  • 25th September – London O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Tickets on sale from Friday 8th May via here and here.

The Wildhearts are online at the official website plus Facebook and Twitter.
