The Haciendas have just self released their 2nd single, The Joker, for download and streaming.

Following on from last years debut single It’s Not Too Late it’s already been named Record of the Week on XS Manchester.

This track from the Mancunian 4 piece, Tom, Dan, Alex and Steve is accompanied by a slick looking video; recorded at The Sun Inn, Failsworth.

Speaking to vocalist Tom about the video, he said, “We mulled over a few different ideas for the video and settled on a game of poker. We thought the idea of branding our own cards and taking the meaning away from what the actual song is about was the best route.”

But what about the setting. Isn’t it a bit ‘in yer face’ and top heavy with the Manchester imagery?

“Not at all. We looked at a few venues close to home and The Sun Inn was just perfect. I’ve been getting the coach to United games from there for a good few years now. Dan is a regular in there, hence why he sat in the corner in the video… ‘the grumpy old mans corner!’ Not to mention the walls inside are plastered with everything great about Manchester… music and United! It’s a nod to our city. Must say, big thanks to Tracie and Russ for being so accommodating, the video came out really well and I can’t wait to see them back in there come match day…”

It’s not just the football that the band are looking forward to, “we’re really looking forward to make up for lost time and getting out there in front of fans in 2021”

The Hacienda’s have already accepted some festival and support slots this summer and will be travelling across country, including a hometown headliner on 9th October at the Bread Shed.
