D.S.L.B

HeavenREAL(s) hit our radar last year with the release of their debut album. They’re back with a new video for the song Heaven.

The song, taken from their debut album D.S.L.B (Deep Song Love Bomb), the song is a great blend of crunching Sonic Youth dynamics with soaring classic C86 choruses that make for a captivating tune that hooks you in with their message of unity and resistance. “Stop bringing yourself down again…Remember you’re here.” they sing, the vocals of Dan Fatel and Gabi Garbutt joined in unison. “Let’s make this heaven.” It’s a song that, when taken in the context of the rest of their album, taps into the personal in a collection that the band say aims to “soundtrack to the chaos of the early 21st century’s struggles.”

The band release their work through their own label, Music As Insurgent Art (distributed via Dirty Water Records), giving them the perfect vehicle for their music. The album, as reviewed here by Keith Goldhanger, is a great ride through a beautiful punk rock racket mixed with more spacious and open songs, such as Heaven. The video follows those for the songs Radiation and Stop Freaking Out, both of which highlight the rawer edge of D.S.L.B.

According to the band, buried within the video is a secret code to a location where you can find a buried 30-minute track from the band and more stuff not to be found anywhere else. Check out the video for Heaven below.
