Last year we ran a review of a great new album by a band called Young Things. Like many others we gave it a top write-up and since then the band have gone from strength to strength. They’ve just produced a video for one of the tracks off the album, Goodbye Sexual, for which (track and video) they teamed up with the equally talented Har Mar Superstar. And we’ve been granted an exclusive on it – so scroll down and check it out below.
If you’re a regular Louder Than War reader you’ll know that Battle Worldwide Recordings are one of our favourite small labels. Hec, we like them so much we even ran an interview with label boss Darren Smallman last year. With an ever expanding roster of talented acts they’re definitely going places.
Getting back to Young Things, when Chris Hearn reviewed their album, Hello Love / Goodbye Sexual, last year, he said of the band:
“Young Things are kind of a bit nerdy, a bit dark, quite poppy and a bit of a jangly, hip indie band … (they) are a buzzband that deserve to be a buzzband. I keep my fingers crossed for their success so I can hear more and more great, darkly nerdy rock and roll for years to come.”
Their label on the other hand, says:
“From NYC explodes Young Things. Their soaring guitars and vintage melodies hint at the lighter side of life; their pounding drums, dark lyrics and pure edge still scream with all the spit and grit of their hometown.”
And you? Well why not check out the track below and tell us what you think? We’d love to know. And if you like it make sure you get hold of a copy of the album, “Hello Love / Goodbye Sexual”, more info about which you can find here.
