Horsemeat: Opulence

Horsemeat return after their excellent debut EP Falling Deep which beat Wayne AF Carey into submission with its balls-out heaviness. Opulence goes beyond 11…

The Altrincham trio are back and there’s no slowing down on this raging fucker of a tune that blasts in and out in a glorious 1.26 minutes of raw hardcore punk metal grunge that has been dubbed ‘Prunge’.

Recorded once again at Salford’s 6Db Studios with Britain’s answer to Steve Albini, Simon ‘Ding’ Archer, who is no stranger to the scene having worked with The Fall, Pixies, Membranes, PJ Harvey and up and coming LTW faves Stepford Wives and Cold Water Swimmers.

The rage in this song is an intense heat of white light that sound metal to a small degree yet punk as fuck in delivery. It just crunches your skull into submission. As the bands press release explains “Opulence comes out of the gates burning like magnesium ribbon” Couldn’t put it better myself!

Listen to the track live on the Louder Than War show tomorrow from 9 pm here:

Bert Genovese – Guitar / Vocals
Rob Jenkinson – Bass / Vocals
Lewis Kirk – Drums
