Emerald Sunday

Dundee sextet Emerald Sunday release video for their emotive new single What Becomes of You.

There’s something in the Scottish water. There must be. That’s the only explanation for the fact that almost every band that hails from the country is just good? From the uncompromising likes of Mogwai, the angular Franz Ferdinand or the ramshackle hedonism of The View to name just three obvious choices, Scotland is a country of insanely talented acts that, more often than not, get overlooked by the English music press unless there’s a major label behind them.

The most recent band destined to join the fabled ranks of Scottish rock royalty, are Dundee’s Emerald Sun. Bridging the gap between heartfelt Scottish folk and uplifting indie rock, the sextet provide a tried and tested indie rock formula with a distinctly Scottish twist. And it’s all the better for it.

Latest single What Becomes of You is a prime example. Touching, rhythmic, heartfelt and ultimately uplifting, it’s a solid slice of Scottish stadium rock that screams out for bigger stages. Check the video below:
