Nothing about Morrissey is without controversy.
Even if its something he is not directly involved in.
The upcoming film of his early life, England Is Mine, which looks at his pre Smiths life in Manchester and apparently ends with that famous knock on the door by Johnny Marr has received criticism from James Maker – a close friend of the early Morrissey and who was on stage with the Smiths very early days. On a facebook entry James was bemused by the film over many points of accuracy and aesthetics…
I bet it’s better than ‘autobiography’ though even if it is fiction.
Wasn’t James Maker the frontman with the band Raymonde??
