UK Decay return with new single and big London show
For more info check the UK Decay website
The recently reformed UK Decay have got a single out this week to tie in with their upcoming big London headline at Electrowerkz on Saturday feb 16th.
The two tracks sound great, with the A side, Killer, being a loose feedback drenched piece with some great guitar noise and a really good from Abo. The flipside, Heavy metal Jew, is 'how the media can fall into racist stereotyping and that you cannot judge a people (Jews, Muslim,Christian etc) by the actions of their governments. It is a strong anti rascist song'. The song is a tough dark sounding rocker riding bareback on a fierce blues drenched riff that sees the band sound better than their heyday.
UK Decay arrived in the fallout of punk and straddled a space betwen post punk and the so called Goth scene. They were fellow travellers with the great Bahaus and early period Adam And the Ants and Southern Death Cult. They didn't stick around long enough to really show what they really could do but weirdly have come back three decade slater at the top of their game.
The artwork for the single was done by Italian anarchist artist, Franko B, who is a renowned artist in his own right. His link is http://www.franko-b.com and he's an Italian anarchist.
The single can be ordered with vinyl through any record shop (500 limited edition white coloured vinyl) but also Rough Trade here: http://www.roughtrade.com/albums/69741
And also ordered as a download from Amazon, iTunes etc
The band have got 200 copies that they are selling at the gig in London on Saturday.
