Space Geno

Deltasonic – Out Now

Check out this new track from Liverpool three-piece TV ME with Bill Ryder Jones providing additional production and mix assistance.

Liverpool’s TV ME is a three-piece project lead by Thomas McConnell with tracks inspired by childhood, Playstations, memories of old computers and regurgitated pop culture. Their low slung future-pop, (as they call it), whilst being highly derivative of early Hot Chip is fresh and inventive, stripped back, light and catchy. Space Geno has a killer melody that gets you humming along – all wonky synths and floaty vocals.

Described by the band as a ‘pop comic strip’ the homemade nature of the music is reinforced by the off-kilter DIY video that comes with the track – see below – all filmed on an iPhone, it kind of adds to the overall effect.

The theme of the video is childhood toys, with the main contraption being made from the old Marble Run game. Other elements such as psychedelic paint bubbles and hands with eyes playing pianos create the kind of retro-charm video that reflects the lo-fi production and early childhood. The complementing B-side Melodica offers a different mood using a mix of acoustic and digital instruments, sticking to the homemade approach of the band.
