Touché Amoré – New Video For Harbor Off Their Third Album Is Survived By

Touché Amoré, a band who, with the release of their latest opus, Is Survived By, I think we can now get away with calling “one of the giants on the post-hardcore / screamo scene,” have just pushed out a great new video for the track Harbor off said recently released & brilliant album. Scroll down to watch it & to clock the live UK dates the band have lined up.

Is Survived By is the third full album in six years by the US band led by vocalist Jeremy Bolm, although like most hardcore bands of course their discography is also littered with a host of EPs, many of them, again in true hardcore tradition, being splits with some other leading bands in their field such as Pianos Become the Teeth & Title Fight. Recording now for the brilliant Deathwish Inc their latest album sees them reaching new heights. It’s a highly strung, taut, intense, beautifully paced emotional roller coaster of a listen, which is guaranteed to get both your pulse & heart racing. It’s clever music from a talented bunch of guys & without a question of doubt Touché Amoré are leading the field in terms of bands of their ilk. It’s not easy for any band to keep on improving on their previous releases but Is Survived By proves that Touché Amoré have no problems in that respect.

The Touché Amoré live show is a thing to behold. With their music ranging from full on extreme ferocity to painfully raw acoustic moments & with all of it backed up by a stunning understanding of ‘melody’ (& astonishing musicianship of course) they just whisk you up with their music & take you to another place. You should definitely practice your mic grabbing skillz beforehand as even if you’re normally a “stand at the back & talk to yer mates” kind of dude it’s probable that you’ll be caught up in the music so much that you’ll be rushing forward to take over on vocals, if not joining the queue for the highest point in the room for to stage dive off.

Guy is a former full time member of the Louder Than War editorial team, who's since moved on to pastures new. Music's been a large part of his life since he first stumbled across Peel on his tranny as a fifteen year old. His whole approach to music was learnt from Peel in fact, which includes having as inclusive a taste in music as possible. Guy devotes most of his time looking for new music & although he's been known to say "the only good music is new music" he pretty much accepts this is bollocks. Favourite band The Minutemen.
