One of modern prog’s brightest stars (although, in traditional prog fashion, they are currently on hiatus while leader Steven Wilson pursues a solo branch of his prolific career), and their intimidatingly gifted drummer Gavin Harrison now forms part of the current King Crimson’s drum trio. Fripp was a natural collaborator, supporting the band with solo soundscapes on their 2007 UK tour and weighing in with a splendidly uninhibited solo to the title track of their Nil Recurring EP, one of the band’s heaviest tracks which Fripp proceeds to tear the roof from at the climax.
