Thy Art Is Murder announce UK tour…

Australian extreme band Thy Art Is Murder have announced a short UK tour; the tour will be followed by the full European release of their second album ‘Hate’ which upon its release in Australia entered the Top 40 – making it the highest entry of any death metal band to date.

Simply titled ‘Hate’ the album is the result of Thy Art Is Murder’s growing dissatisfaction with all aspects of modern life – political, religious, social and environmental – everyone is to blame.

They aim to fuse the blasting technicality of metal luminaries The Black Dahlia Murder with thunderous breakdowns and the intensity born of their nascent hometown scene; the blackened grandeur of Behemoth and the pit churning groove of originators Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse, the resulting cacophony providing a bloody canvas for vocalist CJ McMahon’s outpourings of pure bile.

UK tour dates:

18th Feb 2013 Leicester, Scholar
19th Feb 2013 Bournemouth, Sound Circus
20th Feb 2013 Reading, Face Bar
21st Feb 2013 Glasgow, Audio
22nd Feb 2013 Hull, Ringside
23rd Feb 2013 Manchester, NQ Live
24th Feb 2013 London, Barfly
25-Feb-2013 UK Margate, Westcoast Bar

Phil Newall is from The Wirral - he earns his living not writing about music nor playing music...though sorely wishes he could. He was fortunate enough to see many of the first generation punk bands when they played the U18's matinee shows at Eric's, Liverpool. As an attendee at Eric's he was exposed to punk rock, dub reggae, art rock, and all manner of weirdness; as a customer at Probe Records he was variously served and scowled at by Pete Wylie and Pete Burns - he has written for Record Collector, Whisperin & Hollerin, and Spiral Scratch and wanted to write a book detailing the Liverpool punk scene; however with 'Head-On' Julian Cope beat him to it...and frankly did a much better job.
