The Strokes are to release their new album Comedown Machine in March on Rough Trade records.
The well connected New York band who, according to some sources, reinvented guitar music with their adrenalised trad indie have had an erratic career since they burst onto the scene, Critics faves, they initially sold a lot of records but have struggled to find that sense of excitement that their initial burst through promised.

When they first arrived they were proclaimed the saviours of guitar music and became the instant hipster gods and their new album, their fifth, is the first in the tricky veteran stage of their career…
