‘Mind Over Matter’ is released in early May and is the band’s best yet.

Me and the Nightingales go back a long way.

I used to go to lots of their gigs in the eighties and my band the Membranes shared bills with them. Consistently great they returned a couple of years ago and elected to move forward and not to wallow in the past.

As witty and acebric as ever, frontman Rob Lloyd still has a way with acidic words and is armed with a band that can match his vision-twisting  guitars and a killer rhythm section make the band sound thrilling and this new album is arguably their finest moment and we are really proud to release it on Louder Than War records.

The new record – out on LP / CD
11.05.15 on Louder Than War.

To coincide with the album’s release the Nightingales will be recording a session for Marc Riley’s BBC 6 Music show on May 13 before touring the UK and Ireland with top bloke Ted Chippington.

He constantly tours the world with Goldblade and the Membranes playing gigs or doing spoken word and speaking at music conferences.

  1. While The Fall lost their plot already in 1984 when Brix Smith joined, the Nightingales have been true to themselves, ignoring fads and carrying on with what they do best: being original, creative, authentic and above all unique.
