Manchester’s nine strong urban dance collective are back with a bang to introduce us to different takes on their soon to be anthem Strong which also puts across a message, being a song about struggle, overcoming adversity and believing in your self. They’re ready to hit the big time reckons Wayne AF Carey.

The Moods are a bit of an enigma to me. They’ve been around on the underground scene now since 2014 and as a live collective they know how to throw a party as I witnessed live earlier this year at Macclesfield Festival. Johnny Mood has such a powerful vocal on this track and this is allegedly already blowing up in the clubs. This EP gives us five different takes on the track. First version produced by JSD is a drum n bass rumbler that will have you dancing like a fucker on uppers. It’s that infectious. And it has a 60 strong choir to boot! The Shapes remix is a proper bass slammer that will give any seasoned clubber pure joy. You can feel that dancefloor bouncing. The Dutta remix is pure house and if this gets dropped in Chicago or any of the big house scenes around the planet it’s gonna be massive. You get my drift? A proper dance tune from a bunch of mischievous North Mancs who know how to drop a dance tune like pro’s. And to prove the songwriting skills of Johnny Mood and co, just listen to the stripped down acoustic version which lays the song to it’s bare bones. Then take in their live version recorded at the MEN Arena when they played live for the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships (video to follow). They are ready to take that leap into the big clubland stakes by the sound of this….

"I'm a 50 year old man, and I like it!" A music nut from North Manchester residing in Northwich. If it's good I'm on it. Most genres covered but mainly alternative post punk indie with a love for all things psych.
