The Secret Goldfish: Petal Split – album review
Louder Than War's Gus Ironside finds a suprisingly fresh sound from Glasgow indie-pop band The Secret Garden on their first album for 18 years. Petal Split sees the band cover songs by luminaries such as Edwin Collins ans brings forth their numerous influences. He finds the last garage-influenced piece compliments the classic indie of the other tracks. The clear, sweet vocals, acomplished keyboards and guitars, and a 60s influenced rhythm section, ensure Petal Split is an accomplished offering.
