Strummercamp #9

3 Days Of Liberation – Music & Performing Arts Inspired by Joe Strummer

One of our favourite smaller festivals, Strummercamp, returns this weekend.

With a great bill of bands including Dreadzone, Jah Wobble, Lee Thompson, Ruts DC, The Membranes, ex-SLF, Dub Sex, Evil Blizzard, Anti Pasti, Super Fast Girlie Show and about 100 others including the fab TNS Records stage this is the perfect boutique festival with a friendly atmosphere made up of genuine music fans.

Held at Manchester Rugby Club , Cheadle near Manchester and Stockport the event last all weekends and you will be guaranteed to make friends with the whole audience by Sunday evening as well as seeing some great and varied bands, all playing in the spirit of the great Joe Strummer.

In addition to the fantastic line-up of bands, the art show, camping, food and booze this year’s Strummercamp sees the debut of Instant Stage’s outdoor cinema.

Not only that but Windrushe mobile will also be providing a nerve centre for radio clash in conjunction with the drop beards spitfire dj’s . FREQ 1 main stage FREQ 2 outdoor stage and cinema sound. BRING AN FM RADIO ! or better still get a bazzing portable radio from the merch stalls to listen in your tent or to follow all the action from the outdoor cinema.

Strummercamp wouldn’t happen without Phil Fitzpatrick the organiser.

Here he is talking about the festival, how it started and what to expect for 2014.
