Stream Both Sides Of Demdike Stares New Single – the sixth installment of their ongoing Testpressing series

The brilliant Demdike Stare, the occult project of Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty whose collaborations tick all the industrial, experimental, dark, ambient drone boxes (with a Lancastrian twist) are back with the sixth installment of their ongoing Testpressing series. They’ve also just put both sides out on YouTube, the A side, 40 Years Under The Cosh and the B side, Frontin’. Check both out below.

But be warned, it’s heavy stuff, esp the B side which has literally blown our minds with it’s oh so heavy, dirty, pulverising techno beats. Listen to it played at max volume with all the lights turned out and the chances of your not ending up seriously disorientated and running for the nearest comfort blanket are slim.

The A side came out a few weeks via Fact who described it as “…a slack-jawed dancefloor weapon, with choppy rhythms and razor-sharp synths primed sloppy post-1am moments.”

The release is a limited edition pressing including insert with artwork by Alex Solman and hand-stamped sleeves with initial copies on Transparent Aquatic vinyl. You can grab a copy from Boomkat.

Guy is a former full time member of the Louder Than War editorial team, who's since moved on to pastures new. Music's been a large part of his life since he first stumbled across Peel on his tranny as a fifteen year old. His whole approach to music was learnt from Peel in fact, which includes having as inclusive a taste in music as possible. Guy devotes most of his time looking for new music & although he's been known to say "the only good music is new music" he pretty much accepts this is bollocks. Favourite band The Minutemen.
