Strange Bones

Interview & Live Rehearsal

St Annes

April 2018

Hailing from St Annes near Blackpool Strange Bones produce gut-wrenching hard-core, Prodigy inspired obliterating punk. Nigel Carr (interviewer) and David Gleave (photos/videos) caught up with them at their rehearsal studio in the centre of the town to talk about the band’s development, the sound, and where they go from here.

I saw Strange Bones supporting The Blinders at The Deaf Institute and was staggered by their energy and frontman Bobby Bentham’s seeming disregard for his own safety. Wearing a  black balaclava he launched himself into the crowd, stalked the audience and ran full length down the bar.  This is a man on a mission. His band of three brothers, and Spud, is ripping apart what we would define as progressive hardcore and stamping their own (Dr Marten’s) mark all over it.

“I’m proper into the idea of cross-breeding genres to create this fucked up demon child”

Bobby Bentham – 13 April 2018
