Space and Republica announce 20th Anniversary 2014 Tour

Space and Republica have today announced a joint 20th Anniversary 2014 Tour

Fresh from their recent UK tour, in fact they only concluded last night with a gig at London’s Borderline; Space have announced a series of UK dates for March 2014 – These will be double headliner shows alongside Republica.

The tour kicks off on Tuesday 18th Mrch at King Tut’s, Glasgow and takes in Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Coventry, and London. Space have previously announced a forthcoming album ‘Attack Of The Mutant 50ft Kebab’ which is being released following a successful Pledge Music campaign, however the release date has been put back to 2014 – the band have not as yet confirmed but its a safe bet to assume the album will be released around the time of these dates.

Republica released a 7trk EP ‘Christiana Obey’ back in April 2013, initially as a download only however a CD version did appear to accompany the bands UK 2013 festival dates.

Phil Newall is 47, from The Wirral - he earns his living not writing about music nor playing music...though sorely wishes he could. He was fortunate enough to see many of the first generation punk bands when they played the U18's matinee shows at Eric's, Liverpool. As an attendee at Eric's he was exposed to punk rock, dub reggae, art rock, and all manner of weirdness; as a customer at Probe Records he was variously served and scowled at by Pete Wylie and Pete Burns - he has written for Record Collector, Whisperin & Hollerin, and Spiral Scratch and wanted to write a book detailing the Liverpool punk scene; however with 'Head-On' Julian Cope beat him to it...and frankly did a much better job.
