SladeWhen Slade Rocked The World 1971-1975

Deluxe Slade Box Set available in two configurations from PledgeMusic

Available from 16th October 2015

Slade are one of Britain’s most popular and enduring bands, standing shoulder to shoulder next to the Beatles, Rolling Stones and The Who as an immovable part of this country’s rock firmament, and they’ve been lavishly praised by the likes of Messrs Lennon & McCartney and Mick Jagger, chaps who know a good tune when they hear one.  Alice Cooper, Nirvana, The Ramones, Oasis, Kiss, Sex Pistols and Paul Weller are just a few more of the renowned artists who have shown their admiration for this formidable group.

Noddy, Jim, Don and (especially!) Dave wore colourful, often over the top glam gear for a laugh, but there was nothing silly about their muscular, irresistible songs, and their hard rocking live shows were the stuff of legend.

Described as ‘the missing link between the Beatles and Oasis’ (the latter, of course, having covered `Cum On Feel The Noize’ and `Merry Xmas Everybody’), Slade are never far from British ears and hearts, having created some of the most beloved, indelible songs in the history of popular music.

Their six UK No. 1 singles spent 20 weeks at the top of the chart, and overall they spent a phenomenal 211 weeks in the UK Top 40; they had 3 UK No. 1 albums and spent a combined 153 weeks in the album chart Top 40.

When Slade Rocked The World 1971-1975 pays homage to their phenomenal run of hit singles and albums in the early ‘70s, when they seemingly could do no wrong.
