The much acclaimed Shambala Festival is but a mere few days away and there are limited tickets left (available for purchase here). One of our writers, Halima Amin, will be reporting back from there next week but prior to the festival here’s a wee preview.
What sticks with one after their first Shambala and the experience of festivals after, is the level of sincerity and genuine community alive at Shambala. One of the most interactive and ingenious festivals, it offers something for the party animal and family alike, with some of the friendliest crowds around.
Based in Market Harborough (accessible through St Pancras station, working with GoCarShare and with a free shuttle bus running between Market Harborough Station and the site) the festival is on between Thursday 23rd and Monday 27th of August.
With acts like Roots Manuva and Billy Bragg taking to the stage and a mass glitter head-bang planned for Friday-amongst countless other workshops, cabaret, comedy, ameninities and new musical acts to discover-it has to be the best place to be this Bank Holiday Weekend. Based on last year, Shambala 2012 is going to be a riot. A fun, friendly and eco friendly riot, of course. See you all there!
All words halima Amin.
