Louder Than Words photographer Melanie Smith went to check out the glamorously, sexy, all girl band Sex Pissed Dolls on their very first tour, it was the concluding night to their Never Needed Bollocks Tour.

Sex Pissed Dolls are: Vocals – Nancy Doll / Connie Rotter –  guitar / Jilly Idol – bass / Kitty Vacant – guitar / Anna Key  – drums

The band performed covers of classic punk/ska/rock covers in their set. The dolls (as they are known) had their large following they call the Barmy Army in tow, who had travelled far and wide in support of their ferocious Dolls.

The Great Rock n Roll SwinDoll is the tour documentary which will be released later this year, being filmed at this very same gig. Love em or hate em, you can’t deny they have an entertaining, magnetic appeal, they are all stunning, can play their instruments and perform as if their life depended on it. What’s not to like?

Editor: live reviews / books and head of photography. I can't imagine my life without music, photography or books, all connect and have played a big part in my life. I have experienced many musical genres, northern soul in 1975, early punk movement, drifting into the electronic era, a trip around the rock scene, a taste of indie and a smattering of pop. I possess an eclectic taste in music and a lust for life; new experiences are what drives this machine. I still have that punk DIY spirit and used this to create my own website Mudkiss Fanzine in 2008 - 2013. Official photographer for Louder Than Words - annual music literary festival and a house photographer for Academy Music Group. Available for commissioned work, please contact me
