6. Redskins – Keep On Keepin’ On:

One of the very best protest pop tracks from a legendary band who were rooted in Thatcher’s 80’s (like New Model Army) and part of Paul Weller’s Red Wedge movement. They famously appeared on The Tube in 1984 singing this song and brought on stage a striking Durham Miner – only for the programme’s producers to turn off the mic! “Can’t remember such a bitter time The Boss says jump! The workers fall in line I’m not down, but I’m feeling low They whip us into line With the threat of the dole.”
