Live review

Lit by candles and fairy lights, a newly-put-up Christmas tree as the set, and  with Champagne ready poured Ren took to the stage.
With a ’50s glamour, perfect complexion and strong Salford talking
accent; she then sings with the voice which is so at ease, so liquid flowing
we were simply taken along with it.
She was supported by her musician pal Chris on the piano, Uke and backing vocals.
Also Paul Duffy, from The Coral on guitar and vocals. They treated us to Christmas songs
from White Christmas to Santa Baby, and after asking for requests, Rudolf the Red Nosed
Ren, currently at #1 with the Justice Collective, He Aint Heavy; sang the song excitedly pointing at herself when it’s her bit.
With a handful of her own songs and a rendition of Fairytale of New York huddled around the piano, she had the audience singing along and giving a true feeling of the time of year.
Her comfortable endearing presence on stage made the crowd smile and sing… and even a shout of, “YOU CAN TAKE THE GIRL OUT OF SALFORD…!”
After the performance when her father was asked, “Awww are you so proud?” he
replied, “No, she’s just doing her job”
Haha …parents, don’t we just love them!
