imageKurt Cobain loved them and they are one of the key post punk bands emerging in the wake of punk and twisting music into new and thrilling shapes. The Raincoats influence is endless and the cultural DNA they implanted is felt even more strongly now than at the time.

They were revolutionary as an all women band Ina male dominated music scene and this alone would have been inspirational but their music was also full of thrilling ideas.

The Raincoats are back out playing again and play Manchester’s Soup Kitchen on Friday Nov 11th. Tickets are £16 from this link.
