Rebellion punk festival, the world’s biggest punk festival is looking very strong this year.

The festival held in Blackpool at the Winter Gardens on the weekend of August 2nd to 5th is already celebrating its strongest ever bill with headliners, American punk legends, Rancid being confirmed to headline on the Sunday.

Joining Rancid will be UK Subs, SNFU, Slaughter And The Dogs, the Subhumans, Agnostic Front, Goldblade and 150 other bands in the most diverse and noisy celebration of punk rock in the world.

There are spoken word events, interview stages, loads of merchandise and some pretty crazy looking drinking lunatics as the festival cranks up the party spirit with 10 000 punks from all over the world taking over the venue and Blackpool.

There are early bird cheaper tickets available and these are selling out fast….

  1. How ‘rebellious’ is Rebellion? Has it got protests organised or will ‘punks’ be saving up to get ‘really pissed’, ‘cos that’s wot punk’s about, innit? Will it be marching on November 30th? Can we hope to see a Rebellion stage outside St. Paul’s? Remember when Crass only did benefit gigs? The Membranes played every miner’s benefit going. Even ‘big’ bands, like The Damned, played gigs, like Brockwell Park in ’84, to show that they cared about something. Is punk now about how tall yer mohican is? Will mildly irritating the Daily Mail reading retirees of the Fylde coast be enough to register your dissent? Will anyone bother to really listen to the lyrics they love to shout along to? Is anyone going to rebel?
