Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann to publish second book of poetry…

Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has announced the publication date for his second collected poetry writings…‘In Stillen Nächten’ (In Silent Nights) is to be published by Kiepenheuer & Malevich on the 2nd October 2013 and will retail at around £13.50, the text will all be in German, despite this Amazon UK are stocking the volume which will also be available in the Kindle format.

The book follows Lindemann’s 2002 release ‘Messer’ (‘Knife’) which was described as being:

“full of rich and stimulating imagery…penned by a truly inspired mind.”

Each of the poems were accompanied by photographs of the author in the guise of a shop mannequin; all of which may surprise both fans and critics who in the past have described Rammstein and in particular Lindemann as:

Lindemann gave off an air of such brute masculinity and barely contained violence that it seemed that he could have reached into the crowd, snatched up a fan, and bitten off his head.” (New York Times 2005)

Phil Newall is 47, from The Wirral - he earns his living not writing about music nor playing music...though sorely wishes he could. He was fortunate enough to see many of the first generation punk bands when they played the U18's matinee shows at Eric's, Liverpool. As an attendee at Eric's he was exposed to punk rock, dub reggae, art rock, and all manner of weirdness; as a customer at Probe Records he was variously served and scowled at by Pete Wylie and Pete Burns - he has written for Record Collector, Whisperin & Hollerin, and Spiral Scratch and wanted to write a book detailing the Liverpool punk scene; however with 'Head-On' Julian Cope beat him to it...and frankly did a much better job.
