Public Access TV – Sudden Emotion (Cinematic)
LP out 30 September 2016
Louder than war’s Ioan Humphreys has a listen to Public Access TV’s new video teaser for their forthcoming album.
From the start you get the feeling that the band’s tongues are firmly in their cheeks with the accompanying video. It’s a delightfully low budget (shot in a friend’s bedroom) video that equally sums up the whole track. There is no pretension about this track. Its an indie guitar anthem and the band are proud of it!
The track has great guitar lines running throughout and combined with some equally great guitar hooks, this track is hummable from the start. I can’t help thinking that there are some Strokes influences going on, but this is no way a negative comment. Via osmosis they seemed to have taken on this influence and created their own soaring choruses replete with minor chords to add the extra dramatic dimension to this insistent and insanely catchy track.
This band produces very tuneful and well sung songs that have both clever hook and lyrics that capture your attention and make them into immediate earworms.
In my current mood, I think this is the closest to 3.01 minutes of pop perfection that I have felt for a while. Positive stuff.
