Just when indie music seemed to be sailing into a sea of beige the Prodigy are set to return.
The band who have spent the last few years tearing up the festivals with the best live show on the circuit have a new album out in 2015 that is meant to be tougher and noisier than anything they have done before and is already promising to be their best release yet and features LTW faves Sleaford Mods guesting on one track, Ibeza.
Several of the tracks from the album have already been played live or have been noted on forums, including Beyond The Death Ray, Get Your Fight On’ and ‘Wall Of Death’ and Rockweiler’, has featured regularly in the band’s set since it was first played at Rock Am Ring in 2013. Other tracks like AWOL’, ‘Jetfighter’, ‘The Day’ and ‘Dogbite’ have also featured in the bands live set, but it isn’t known if any of those will feature on the album.
First, though, there is their new single Nasty Nasty which will be released in January and is the band’s first new song since 2009’s album ‘Invaders Must Die’. The title of the track is the same as classic punk band 999’s 1977 single but is not the same song according to a Q interview with Liam Howlett in October. Howlett stated ‘Nasty Nasty’ featured “some trippy Winston Churchill vibe in the middle”. It features lead vocals by Keith Flint
On the Prodigy’s instagram page they have teased fans with a variation of choices for the single cover but they all look suitably punky.
