Liines by Thomas Quaye at 0161

Things have started really taking off for post-punk three piece LIINES in the last few weeks – from being tipped by Even the Stars as one of the best live bands in Manchester, to our New Band of the Day feature, to plays by John Kennedy on Radio X.

We definitely think you should check them out – start with our premiere of their video for single Never There.

We described the single as “a sub-three-minute full-throttle run off a cliff just for the exhilaration of falling” and we’re no less excited about it now we’ve seen the video.

Following their sold out Night and Day (Manchester) show to launch the track Even the Stars described the night as: “an absolute triumph, the sort of night that restores your faith that great music will find a way to its audience.”

The video was filmed, edited and produced by Lisa Mattocks (The Future); additional filming by Kate Daley; lighting by Ashley Ennever (Scruff of the Neck Productions ).

You need to catch this band as soon as you can – their next show is Scruff of the Neck Record’s Pop-Up Winter Festival 2015 on Saturday 12 December at The Kings Ransom, Sale.

  1. A superb performance in one of the most challenging venues going – an open truck in a pub car park with the temp at 3 deg C.
Musically brilliant – a pounding bass and drums with strong vocals from Zoe, an authentic performance sounding very close to the published tracks.
Any front woman/band who aims to perform with such energy that they drip sweat in the freezing cold deserve rapturous applause.
Again the small bands score well by talking to the audience before they appear on stage.
    Great pictures on facebook
