Premiere: Cornershop mix of Food by The Lovely Eggs

We’re very pleased to premiere the Cornershop mix of Food by The Lovely Eggs on the site for you today.

Due out on Monday (14 January) as part of the Singhles Club series, the collaboration came about after The Lovely Eggs heard Cornershop’s hip hop track Milkin’ It on Marc Riley’s Show.

They sent a nice email, found a mutual admiration through independent spirit and collaborated on the mix version of their track Food.

Tjinder Singh (Cornershop) pushed the track in a harder , ’77 punk direction (with a pinch of Paris ’73) after seeing The Lovely Eggs live and being taken by how damn good and tight the band are.

The Singhles Club sends subscribers six surprise tracks by email when they sign up. It costs just £6. The first song featured Angharad from Trwbador and the second track was Californian psych pop The Smoking Trees (hear the tracks here). You can join at anytime via the Cornershop website (and look out for a chance to win membership on LTW later today).

Let us know what you think of the mix in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter.
