This Sunday (2 September) will see Portishead (the town) take on Portishead (the band) in a charity football match to raise funds for the local children’s hospice.

Geoff Barrow, of Portishead but also Beak>, Drokk and Quakers, has organised the match and is encouraging donations by offering a personal compilation featuring unreleased tracks from him to the person dropping the most money into the online bucket.

The Portishead (band) team will also include members of Massive Attack, Roni Size and Kasabian.

The fundraising is currently just shy of half way towards the £5000 target which will go toward supporting the work at SW Children’s Hospice.

For news from the match and fundraising progress you can follow Geoff on Twitter.

If you’d like to make a donation you can do it online here or head down to Portishead Town FC for a 2.30pm kick off to cheer on the teams.
