PINS Release Charity Compilation Cassette TapeThe record label run by the band PINS (Haus of PINS) have just announced that they’re releasing a limited edition charity compilation tape, titled Hymns, this week. Indeed, it’s available right now and smart advice is to not dilly dally on this one.

The cassette feature twelve songs by different artists, all invited to contribute by PINS themselves. Heightening the desirability of the artefact is the fact that the cassettes have all been hand-crafted.

One of the twelve bands, naturally, are PINS themselves whose contribution is their Xmas song, ‘Kiss Me Quickly (It’s Christmas)’. And like a lot of the other twelve tracks on the album it is an original.

The complete list of artists featured are:

  • PINS
  • Abjects
  • Mistoa Polsta
  • ‘king Dj
  • September Girls
  • Brown Brogues
  • The Supreme God
  • Girl Sweat
  • Shinies
  • Zissou Society
  • L”amour Des Reves
  • Posy War Glamour Girls

Said the PIN’s Faith:

‘Some of the bands already had the songs, other bands wrote a song exclusively for it, which I’m honoured by.’

All of the proceeds from ‘Hymns’ will be given to SWAP, a charity that helps refugees and asylum seekers in the North. Quoting Faith again:

‘My grandfather volunteers for the charity, he goes every week – he’s 81 years old and still chooses to spend his time doing this really admirable thing. I think he is an inspiration.’

The cassette will be available exclusively from the Haus of PINS website: hausofpins.co.uk from the first week of December NOW!!!

Guy is a former full time member of the Louder Than War editorial team, who's since moved on to pastures new. Music's been a large part of his life since he first stumbled across Peel on his tranny as a fifteen year old. His whole approach to music was learnt from Peel in fact, which includes having as inclusive a taste in music as possible. Guy devotes most of his time looking for new music & although he's been known to say "the only good music is new music" he pretty much accepts this is bollocks. Favourite band The Minutemen.
