9. THE HEPTONES – PARTY TIME

 

The Jamaican vocal trio recorded this album in 1977 with producer Lee “Scratch” Perry during the peak period of his Black Ark studio. The vocal harmonies are soulful and the song lyrics are still relevant today with titles such as Crying Over You, Mr President, Serious Time and Storm Cloud. The production is classic Lee Perry with dub intervals and the album is full of heart.
