Manchester’s pioneering indie-dance group Paris Angels have just announced an upcoming charity fund raiser for St Marys hospital Baby Unit.
The event includes a bumper line up of the cities finest acts including Mark Burgess, Louder Than War faves The Cornelius Crane with Mary Joanna & The Southern Electrikk (who are fronted by Mary Joanna Coogan, the niece of Steve Coogan). As well as that there will be DJ sets from Tin Tin and Phil Beckett. A pretty impressive night all round we think you’ll agree.
Paris Angels manger Phil James has sent Louder Than War all the details:
“On Thursday 31st October there is a very special evening being held at The Ruby Lounge Manchester.”
“All money raised for the evening will go to St Marys baby unit. We are organizing this evening as a way of taking the attention off our original fund raising idea of the special tribute album for Paris Angels’ drummer, Simon Worrall, Distant Drums,” which, Louder Than War wrote about over HERE & which is available from iTunes & Amazon.
Of the bands Phil went on to say:
“We’ve picked a small selection of Manchester music talent for the evening including three acts off the ‘Distant Drums’ album such as Dub Sex (who’ll be playing a short set), Mark Burgress and guests (who’ll also be playing a short set)) and The Cornielus Crane.”
“We’re also proud to have newcomers Mary Joanna & The Southern Electrikk on our eclectic line up, a band who include actress and chanteuse Mary Joanna Coogan.
“All bands have given their services for nothing to help raise awareness of and cash for the baby unit. There’s no headliner as such, just a great evening of musical talent.”
