The world’s biggest boy band One Direction have a history of toying with punk rock as their bizarre version of the Undertones classic Teenage Kicks attests. They have now gone one step further and hooked up with ‘punk legends’ Good Charlotte and claiming that they are working on an edgier sound.
The odd thing about this is that it seems to us that it’s Blink 182 who are heading into the edgier direction here by working with 1D as the so called punk band are hardly punk are they!
We imagine the album will be kinda like Busted-lite.
Observe the evidence for this collaboration…according to some website site called heatwave.
Benji Madden from Good Charlotte has tweeted a snap of him and brother Joel Madden alongside
Liam Payne from 1D with the caption: ‘Good day today w/ @Louis_Tomlinson and @Real_Liam_Payne lotta laughs #1D #Directioners their new album is crazy. homies!! #Noice.’
Niall Horan has also been tweeting about teaming up with Indie band Kodaline for some writing sessions.
He wrote excitedly: ‘Got some really cool writing sessions coming up ! With some of my favourite writers! Looking forward to it.’
Liam recently revealed that One Direction’s new album would be a ‘game changer.’
By ‘game changer’ we wonder if he means they’ll be inspired by their pop/punk writing buddies and start donning black eyeliner and instigating mosh pits amongst their devoted Directioners???
