OFF!: New OFFicial Video.

OFF! have released another video. These guys are spoiling us eh? There seems to be a constant stream of promo material emanating from them. And rest assured, as fast as they throw it at us we’ll throw it back at you. This one’s a total doozy. Possible contender for video of the year in fact. I should shut up & just let you enjoy right? Ok.

First things first, the quip in the title is theirs not our’s.

This video’s a peach. Not only do you get an OFF! video with OFF! music but it’s also seriously witty. AND we get two tracks of the band’s blistering hardcore for our money, rather than the more normal one. Both tracks are from their recently released self titled album which was one of our favourite albums from the first half of the year. If you haven’t already got a copy you should consider investing.

Remember when you used to record Noel Edmonds Swapshop on a dodgy VHS video back in the 70’s / 80’s? Of course not, if you’re old enough you’d have been watching Tiswas (you are LTW readers after all right?). But if you had done so this is what playing it back would be like. With added OFF! for your entertainment.

That, of course, is anglicising it. In reality this video is based on a US TV show & Stereogum managed to track down the original clip from the original show. I know, I just thought it was a skit too. Those Americans eh? So if you’d like to compare & contrast the two video’s here you go:

Guy is a former full time member of the Louder Than War editorial team, who's since moved on to pastures new. Music's been a large part of his life since he first stumbled across Peel on his tranny as a fifteen year old. His whole approach to music was learnt from Peel in fact, which includes having as inclusive a taste in music as possible. Guy devotes most of his time looking for new music & although he's been known to say "the only good music is new music" he pretty much accepts this is bollocks. Favourite band The Minutemen.
