Sixteen Song Self-Titled Album Coming From Vice Records

SXSW Appearances Next Week

OFF! are offering a sneak preview of songs from their forthcoming self-titled album via this behind the scenes studio video that Noisey shot. Hear some tunes and discussion of what it’s like to cut 17 songs in 3 days via Noisey’s Youtube channel:

In a creative pace to match the breathless vehemence of their music, punk/hardcore luminaries OFF! have announced the follow up to their much heralded debut First Four EPs will arrive in the form of a self-titled full length May 7th, 2012 from Vice Records. Barreling through sixteen high intensity tracks in as many minutes, the album demonstrates the LA quartet had still further to ratchet up their visceral sonic maelstrom, delivering a “dark party” soundtrack of unleashed exasperation and bitterness executed with a rigorous precision that more than lives up to the cavalcade of accolades heaped upon them so far by the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian, NPR, Kerrang!, LA Times, among many others.

In conjunction with the impending release the band have announced a trio of appearances at next week’s SXSW Festival and are planning on heading to Europe in the near future too.

“This music is built for a climate of frustration and powerlessness, and its bare-knuckled punch-in-the-face is a long-needed wake-up call to nostalgic escapism.” ”“Best New Music review on PITCHFORK

“This band is shooting to kill, and, like any great punk group, is a model for sustained intensity and streamlined might.” ”“ NPR

“It’s brief and choppy and fierce, all downstrokes on the guitar and hyperactive drums, like being repeatedly slapped. It’s thrilling, too.”
”“ The Guardian

  1. I like what you guys are up too. Such smart work and reporting! Carry on the excellent works guys I’ve incorporated you guys to my blogroll. I think it’ll improve the value of my website :).

  2. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  3. wonderful post, very informative. I’m wondering why the opposite experts of this sector don’t understand this. You should proceed your writing. I am confident, you have a great readers’ base already!

  4. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

  5. Excellent goods from you, man. I’ve understand your stuff previous to and you are just extremely wonderful. I actually like what you have acquired here, really like what you’re saying and the way in which you say it. You make it entertaining and you still take care of to keep it sensible. I cant wait to read much more from you. This is really a great web site.
