Skip a Sinking Stone is the follow up to the acclaimed Love’s Crushing Diamond, his debut for Transgressive. There is a delicacy and tenderness to Jordan Lee’s work, and this continues into Skip a Sinking Stone. Lead single Not For Nothing is a perfect example of this.
However, Lee describes the album as having two distinct parts to it the first being awash with warm string arrangements, and written whilst touring non-stop. The second part to the record was written when Lee had the time and space to carefully craft the record and instead of the warmth it charts his growing depression and a downturn of a relationship.
