In a time when staring a new label is only for the insane or the rich and daft it’s great to flag up a label who are genuinely in it for the music.
Operating outside boring stuff like fashion the label are dealing in bands that make music that really matters. The recent single from Weatherbird, below, is a great example of this- powerful driving impassioned rock music with a touch of Nirvana’s small town desperation and melodic skree jamming it out with the powerful rush of primetime Cult.

There’s loads of great stuff on the label including these releases from the last few years,
Fables, The 7:21s, The Briganties, Jack Summer, The Carletons, Black Labels, The Maddisons, Essay For The Ordinary, Telegramme, Wasp Factory, Devils Conspiracy, Shake Appeal, Dead Letter Office, The Fevers, Zero State, The Greeting Committee, London Commands You and the aforementioned Weatherbird.

Formed in 2006 End Of The Trail Records have taken the blueprint
of Factory Records and based their whole ethos around the legendary
Manchester label. And it seems to be working.

Their manifesto is…
“END OF THE TRAIL RECORDS POLICY: All acts are free to go when and
where they want, and take all copyrights, artwork + recorded masters with them.
WE OWN NOTHING. The bands own everything”

Sticking steadfastly to this maxim the label have flourished while other indie
labels have fallen by the wayside.

Recently the label have had success with Weatherbird. The band topped the Amazon
Charts with their first release “I Might Be More Than You Know”. The band have since
been courted by several major labels. They have been dubbed “The best unsigned band
in Britain”. Impressed by the label Weatherbird have decided to stick with them
until the right offer comes along.

Another of their acts Street Party In Soho were made XFM single of the week
in November with their single “Take Your Time” and have also had major label
enquiries as well named producers asking to work with the band.
Street Party In Soho were also named in her top 100 bands of 2013 by
Shell Zenner.

The label continue to sign bands at a steady rate and with no contracts being
signed it leave all the acts with them in an enviable position.
