EIGHTIES VINYL RECORDS pride ourselves on supporting local [Merseyside] business and talent, whether that is printing, videography, photography or design.
The âNot for Profitâ label set up in July 2012 will hopefully be a showcase of local talent, from the Artists themselves through to the Graphic Designers, Bands, Recording Studio etc.
Local Film Makers Freakbeat Films will be providing videos to accompany each release. They have produced The Troubadours âCon Edisonâ video and are working on Sankofaâs release now.
To keep within our Eighties Philosophy and Inspiration the label shall be producing Limited Edition
7â Coloured Vinyl in quantities not exceeding 250.
‘There was nothing better than racing to Probe Records in Liverpool to pick up a Limited Edition Vinyl on the first day of release, checking the Cover Artwork, reading the Sleeve Notes and having something tangible to grasp on the journey home.’ they claim adding,
Â
‘Our first release is by THE SAND BAND whoâs album âAll Through The Nightâ was in Mojo magazines Top 50 albums of 2011 ahead of Noel Gallagher and The Arctic Monkeys. Their single âWhen we Kissâ is available now on White Vinyl.’
Â
The recent second release âCon Edisonâ is by The Troubadours who only 3 years ago had a Top 10 hit in Japan and toured with Paul Weller yet were unable to gain a UK release from their label. Their 7â is available on Red Vinyl.
We hope to produce a single each month with Sankofa, The Thespians and The Merrylees all lined up for the next 2 months.
Plans for this year also include a possible album release and a book and gig to commemorate our first year.
Â
We will have the finished masters of each release available to listen to before purchase on our Soundcloud site.

Â
We are also producing a Limited Edition T-Shirt with each release, which will hopefully give the bands an idea on the designing and selling of merchandise.
Â
All monies/profit is to be re-invested for future releases. Therefore the bands are not contracted to us and are free to do whatever they wish with whomever they wish.
